Cypress and Myrtle

I bask in moonlight

and rainy nights

Rain that doesn't return void

but waters the soil

to bring blessings

of joy and peace

No longer thorns

but a cypress tree

No more briers

but myrtle surrounds me

For the rain has a purpose

it will accomplish

Because it was sent by the Breeze

that moves in ways higher than mine

and carries thoughts higher than mine

An assurance from scripture

brings promise

and eternal life.
